7.1 magnitude aftershock rattles southern California

A powerful tremor strikes 125 miles north of Los Angeles as communities continued to assess damage from 4 July quake

A magnitude 7.1 earthquake has struck southern California, a day after a 6.4 quake hit region on the 4th of July holiday.

The latest tremor, which was felt in downtown Los Angeles and as far away as Mexico, hit the region at 8.19pm local time on Friday.
