Picnic In Richmond Park, London
Last weekend while we were in London we got really lucky with some incredibly warm and sunny weather, which meant spending as much time outdoors as possible. It was so lovely that I kept saying I never wanted to leave. Just pluck me down in the middle of the countryside and I would be a happy girl. My friend Rose, who you’ve seen here on GMG many times, suggested we head to Richmond Park for a picnic, a spot she’s told me about in the past, but we’ve never made it out to.
Before we left in the early afternoon, we sent Thomas to Fortnum & Mason to pick up a hamper full of treats for the four of us. When he got there, he was so overwhelmed with the vast possibilities that he panicked and didn’t know what to get. He ended up calling all four of us, individually, multiple times, and still only came home with a basket, a jar of olives and a slice of cheese. Rose and I were dying laughing and ended up going to a delicious Italian deli to pick up the rest of our food, which worked out just perfectly! Bread, cheese and a bottle of wine is all we really need!
A strong breeze welcomed us at the park, but we managed to settle down under a big tree in the tall grass. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky and the warm afternoon sun mixed with our bellinis made us all relaxed and ready for a nap. After a crazy past few months, down time like this sure felt good. It’s always special to be able to spend quality time with close friends who we only get to see a few times a year. Even though the four of us talk every single week, if not almost every day, there is nothing better than time together in person.
Rose and I wore Gal Meets Glam dresses, both from the May Collection and both linen. I’m wearing the Caroline dress that comes in three colors- mint, lavender and cream, and Rose is wearing the Vanessa dress, which comes in buttercup and lavender.
