A Look To Warmer Weather
Since we’ve been dreaming and planning for our Gal Meets Glam Collection resort launch for months and months, my mind has been on warm weather since well, before Christmas. It always felt a little strange to go from our NYC office, surrounded by colorful fabrics and warm weather dress samples, into the bitter cold outside! Needless to say, I’m more than ready to look ahead to warm weather. With our Gal Meets Glam Collection Resort line already popping up at our retailers and coming to our e-commerce site this Wednesday, there’s simply no more denying it: I’m in spring mode from here on out. Thankfully, spring arrives early in Charleston, and it’s only a matter of days before the trees begin blooming, the sunny days outnumber the cloudy ones, and we spend more time on the porch than we do in the house. I’ve already picked up a few new pieces for spring that I’ve been pairing with the last of my winter outfits as the seasons transition, helping me to look forward to the beautiful days ahead. I’m also keeping my eye out for the perfect shoes and accessories to pair with our new GMGC styles–they’ve been such a long time coming, I can hardly wait to wear them all! (You may have noticed I couldn’t resist pulling a few out a little early, seen here, here, here, and here.) Here are just a few of the ways I’m looking ahead to warm weather.
Sophia Jumpsuit, coming 2.20
Nothing says vacation-ready like the tropical floral print we used for our Sophia jumpsuit! The fresh color palette, cropped length, and flattering cut make this one of my favorite casual pieces from the resort collection.
Ankle-Tie Espadrille Wedges
I’ve amassed quite a collection of Castaner wedges, and for good reason–I wear them multiple time a week in the spring and summer. Since they’re some of my very favorite shoes to pair with dresses, I immediately scooped up this year’s new pointed-toe version in both colors.
I love a good floral statement earring, and Rebecca de Ravenel makes some of my all-time favorites. This new daisy pair adds the perfect touch of whimsy to any outfit. They’d look adorable paired with an eyelet blouse, a white wrap dress (keep an eye out for Elisabetta, launching Wednesday), or a striped tee.
Poppy Dress, coming 2.20
I can hardly wait to bring my favorite linen pieces from last year back out for the warmer months–it continues to be one of my favorite fabrics to wear. We have a bunch of linen Gal Meets Glam Collection pieces coming out over the next few months, but the colorful Poppy dress is one of the first…and one of the cheeriest!
Raffia slides are one of my warm weather wardrobe must-haves, and the addition of the understated bow to this pair gives them just the right touch of feminine flair. I would wear them constantly throughout the spring and summer, both with dresses and with casual tees and shorts.
Blush Cropped Pants
Wide-legged cropped pants perfectly bridge the gap between winter long pants and spring shorts. For now, I’ll pair this blush version with a lightweight sweater or cardigan, but later, they’ll create an effortless look with a ruffled tank and slides.
Cat-eye sunglasses like these are one of my favorite ways to add an instant touch of vintage inspiration to any outfit. We used a similar pair during our spring Collection shoot in Palm Springs last week, reminding me how much I love the look!
