Dresses For Different Valentine’s Day Celebrations

Valentine’s Day is just one week away, which means it’s time to confirm plans for the evening! Whether that means reserving a table for two at your favorite restaurant, signing up for a fun class, or texting your best girls to choose the spot for your annual Galentine’s Day party, one of the most fun parts of this holiday is deciding what to wear. Thomas’ and my past Valentine’s Day celebrations have ranged from cozying up at home to enjoy a home-cooked meal to getting dressed to the nines for a fancy dinner and dancing out on the town. The best thing about Valentine’s Day is that it doesn’t really matter how you celebrate it–all that matters is being in wonderful company, whether that means your significant other, your family, or your best friends. I’ve picked out my favorite Gal Meets Glam Collection dresses for all different plans below. I can hardly wait to scroll the #gmgonme hashtag on February 15 so I can see what you did to celebrate and what you wore!

An Intimate Dinner Date

The Cosette dress is one of my favorite pieces from our January line–I’m anxiously awaiting the opportunity to wear it, and think a fancy Valentine’s Day dinner would be a great one. If you’re headed out to your favorite restaurant to enjoy a long, leisurely meal, this fit and flare will make you feel elegant from the moment you slip it on. Pair it with nude pumps and a cream jacket to play up the fresh, feminine colors of the dress.

Out For Cocktails and Dancing

One reason the Carmen jumpsuit from our holiday collection is so versatile: it transitions perfectly to any season’s holiday! Either the petal pink or red option would look fabulous for a night out on the town, starting with drinks at your favorite cocktail bar, followed by hours on your favorite dance floor in town.

A Hands-On Activity

Some of Thomas’ and my all-time favorite dates have been hands-on activities, like taking a cooking or art class. Trying something new together creates such fun memories and inevitably leads to lots of laughter! For Valentine’s Day, classes in wine pairing, macaron making, or floral arranging would be especially appropriate, but don’t be afraid to try anything that intrigues you. I’d wear the Lizzie dress  to a class or activity for a polished, but carefree, style that looks as lovely with flats as it does with heels (based on the type of activity).

A Relaxed Brunch

Daytime dates can be every bit as romantic as evening ones–after all, the conversation is always sweet when you’re sharing an order of pancakes for the table! Slip into the Alison dress in Bone  for a crisp and just-dressed-up-enough brunch outfit, and then drape the Mary scarf around your neck to add a pop of festive blush floral. Chic flats like these or these complete this charming, classic look.
