5 Great Things To Do For a Couple In Pattaya
I love traveling around Thailand with my girlfriend and one of the best places to visit is, in many people’s eye, a seaside resort that is all about the intense nightlife with partying and drinking. But, although in many areas of the city it is true, it’s only partly true. Because Pattaya has in fact, some of the best places to hang out, chill and kick back with your better half in the whole of Thailand. And I include Samui in that!
Pattaya has so many things to do, you will be spoilt for choice. From amazing speed boat tours to nearby islands too numerous attractions on the mainland itself. It’s an amazing place beyond the seedy side and what it is famous for!
Chill out at one of Pattaya’s beaches
There are 2 main beaches, Pattaya beach and Jomtien beach. You will find tourist and locals alike in both. Locals can be found under the beach umbrellas and tourists in the sun. Plenty of activities on Pattaya’s beaches, and they are always lively and busy. Chilling out by the beach is pretty much one of the best things to do in Pattaya for sure.
Enjoy Pattaya’s fantastic shows
The world-famous ladyboy shows in Pattaya are one of the most popular tourist attractions for couples. And no matter if you are a straight couple or not, one of the 3 major ladyboy shows: Tiffany’s Show, Alcazar Show, and Colosseum Show, will be for you!
With a global reputation for performance quality, you cannot find better than Tiffany’s. The oldest and most popular ladyboy show in Pattaya is still the best. Performed by super talented and beautiful ladyboys including the winner of Miss Tiffany’s Universe pageant. Other shows include the popular Alcazar Show which has a combination of dance, music, and storytelling to popular Thai and English songs. The Colosseum Show which is the newest and largest ladyboy cabaret show in Pattaya. And KAAN Show which is a non-ladyboy show with some Acrobatics, theatrical animation, dancing, and giant puppets.
Spend a fun day at the Water Parks
Thailand is a very hot country, so it’s a good job it has plenty of water parks and pools to cool off in. The biggest water park by far is the Ramayana Water Park. With over 50 slides and attractions including many thrilling water slides, a double FlowRider, 3 pools, and a lazy river. A short ride from downtown Pattaya, it’s a great place for you both to enjoy and have some fun!
If the large park doesn’t sound your cup-o-tea, then try Cartoon Network Amazone Water Park. As the name suggests, it’s a cartoon network themed amusement and water park. With plenty of amazing fun. With shows and appearances from some of the characters, Cartoon Network fans will be in their element, if the powder puff girls are your thing!
Visit the Big Buddha Mountain
However, should you be looking for something more relaxed and cultural? I would suggest that you visit Khao Chi Chan (the Big Buddha Mountain). Made in 1996 to commemorate the King of Thailand’s golden jubilee. This big Buddha image was carved into the rock using a laser and then gold was used to fill in the sculpture. The image features an amazingly large size which is 109m in height and 70m in width. A stunning sight and you will be welcomed by the locals and given the best spots to take pictures. Easy to get there from Pattaya city a taxi or Songthaew can take you. This should set you back around 500 baht and be about a 30-minute journey.
Shop at the Weekend Night Market
A place I would always recommend for couples is to spend some time with retail therapy. The Therapsid Night Market, (A.k.a The Pattaya Weekend Market) located on the southeast side of Pattaya, is the most popular night market in Pattaya. Open from 5 PM to 11 PM only on Fridays and at the weekends.
After you have hit this Mecca of the retail world its time to relax, eat some amazing food and chill out over some luscious cocktails. Pattaya has an abundance of great chilled out night-time venues, but non-more so than Pippa’s Restaurant in North Pattaya. Without a doubt it’s the Best Rooftop Bar Pattaya It overlooks the bay and has some stunning sunset views. Located atop Mytt Beach Hotel in North Pattaya, the Pippa Restaurant rooftop offers you panoramic views of the iconic Pattaya beach resort and beyond. Our verdant, lush decor sets the perfect ambience for family and friends to relax and watch the sunset wash over one of Thailand’s most popular beach destinations. And we offer more than just fabulous views. You’ll definitely want to linger over our wonderful menu as you enjoy a refreshing cocktail. It is perfect for that romantic meal.
